Skier provides an excellent introduction to 6502 Assembler published in 1981 - The chapter that developed a simple text editor I found particularly usefull when just starting.

Stephenson doesn't cover any more than Skier but the book contains many small code examples which are useful.

Birnbaum provides an essential book if your using Assembly on the BBC B or BBC Master range of computers.

Butterfield's book targets the Commodore 64, but also caters for all Commodores back to the Pet.
